Senior architectural leader owns technical vision across Adobe engagements, leads a distributed team of architects, and serves as escalation point for complex design and integration challenges.
Code and Theory is a digital-first creative and technology agency that builds products, platforms and experiences for global brands. We combine engineering, design, data and strategy to deliver transformative digital solutions at scale.
This role leads the architecture pillar of the Adobe practice. You will be the senior architectural authority across every Adobe engagement we run, and the person our architects look to for technical direction, career growth and advocacy. You will also be the technical face of Code and Theory everywhere including Adobe - in front of their field teams, in front of their clients, and in the rooms where solutions get shaped before anyone writes a line of code.
This is not a role for someone who has stopped architecting. It is a leadership role for a practicing architect who wants to build and lead a team of them.
WHAT YOUâLL DO
WHAT YOUâLL NEED
20+ years in technology, including 5+ years leading architects or senior technical staff globally. (India, LATAM etc)
Demonstrated ownership of performance reviews, career development and compensation decisions - not mentoring alone
Experience in an agency, consultancy or systems integrator, carrying multiple concurrent clients
Experience delivering across US, India and LATAM specifically
Deep, hands-on architectural expertise in at least one of the following:
Working architectural knowledge across all three areas of architectural expertise, sufficient to review a design, challenge a decision, and hold a client conversation
Experience with enterprise integration architecture (CRM, commerce, search, identity and SSO, analytics, data platforms)
Experience with modern architecture patterns (API-first, composable, headless versus hybrid, cloud-native, event-driven)
Still close enough to the work to earn respect from architects and engineers, not as the primary implementer, but the ability to read the code, diagnose the problem and defend the decision
Proven experience leading complex projects that include Data migration, customer journeys, CSC, legacy CMS to AEM, on-premise to AEMaaCS, and into Edge Delivery Services
Hands-on daily use of AI engineering tools like Claude, Cursor, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience building agents, sub-agents or orchestrated workflows, not only consuming AI tooling
Track record of establishing AI-assisted practice across a team, including bringing skeptics along
Judgment about where AI output needs a human in the loop, and the guardrails to enforce it
Pre-sales ownership including estimation, staffing models, scope definition, pricing input and presenting in the room
Executive stakeholder management, including the ability to hold a boardroom conversation and an architecture review in the same day
An understanding of utilization, margin and why an inaccurate estimate is an architectural failure as much as a commercial one
Experience with enterprise clients across US, EU and APAC
Own the technical relationship with Adobeâs field, product and partner organizations
Represent us in Adobeâs partner ecosystem: beta programs, Experience League, user groups, Summit, and the conversations that earn early access
Bring Adobeâs roadmap back into the practice, and our field learning back to Adobe
Experience with commercial negotiations and contract development
Experience leading distributed teams across time zones, with genuine working relationships in offshore delivery centers rather than nominal ones
Comfort operating in a practice that is being built rather than one that is already running
Willingness to travel for client engagements, Adobe events and time with delivery teams

Set the strategic direction and oversee the development of ESCAâs policy agenda to address the affordability crisis by advancing cash policies and countering corporate concentration, building on organizational expertise in the areas of expanding tax credits, guaranteed income and benefits access; and curbing corporate concentration, monopoly conduct, regulating tech and AI and encouraging public options.

The Economic Security Project is a primarily virtual office with staff across the country. This position must be based in California with regular in person meetings with decision-makers and coalition partners, including maintaining a consistent presence in (with regular travel to) Sacramento.
The salary range for this position is $160,000-$195,000, dependent on factors such as experience and location. This role includes a comprehensive benefits package.
The Economic Security Project (ESP) advocates for ideas that build economic power for all Americans. To expand whatâs considered possible and turn bold ideas into reality, ESP legitimizes emerging concepts through cutting-edge research, elevating champions, and challenging conventional wisdom.
Driven by a diverse team of academics, organizers, practitioners, and culture makers, the organization runs targeted issue campaigns, develops creative interventions, and convenes leaders to spur collective action. By winning concrete policy victories for communities in immediate need, ESP creates the conditions to actively shift the economic landscape.
By convening thousands through strategic briefings and marquee events, ESP has set a bold agenda for a more just political economy. Their advocacy secured over $1 trillion in direct family relief during the pandemicâincluding a pivotal federal campaign for the expanded Child Tax Creditâand modernized tax codes in over seven states. These cash-based interventions famously âdefied gravityâ by reducing poverty in the midst of a recession.
To address todayâs cost-of-living crisis, ESPâs Affordability Framework diagnosed broken markets and broken incomes as twin drivers. They backed this analysis with a live Affordability Dashboard to track real-time economic pressures and launched the Affordability Campaigns Collaborative to unite advocates across issues. Across federal and state levels, ESP continues to advance policies that tackle corporate concentration, ensure tech/AI delivers for workers, address housing, promote public options, ensure tax fairness, and expand benefits access.
Beyond direct policy wins, ESP has fortified the field by investing over $25 million into groundbreaking research, grassroots coalitions, and narrative interventions that advance racial and economic justice. Through these combined efforts, they have moved once-radical ideas into the mainstream, championing a vision where individuals possess the agency to be the true authors of their own lives.
The Economic Security Project fosters a high-performance, remote-first culture rooted in accountability and growth. Committed to diversity and inclusion, ESP ensures its policies are informed by diverse lived experiences while investing heavily in professional development. ESP supports employee well-being through flexible remote work, regular office closures, and a five-year sabbatical program, balancing rigorous strategic planning with in-person connection and a spirited office culture.
Economic Security California (ESCA), an affiliate of the Economic Security Project, builds economic power for all Californians by fighting corporate consolidation and advancing cash policies so every resident has the freedom and stability to thrive. The organization has advanced a policy agenda that seeks to put money into the pockets of people who need it, through expanded tax credits and direct cash, while guarding against the forces trying to take money out, by curbing anticompetitive conduct by Big Tech and other concentrated corporate power. In Sacramento, Economic Security California Action, the sister organization to ESCA, has sponsored cutting edge legislation, including AB 325 to stop algorithmic price-fixing in housing and groceries, and SB 53 to require AI safety and security transparency and establish a public option for AI compute to prevent further market consolidation as AI reshapes the stateâs economy, and AB 1776 (the COMPETE Act), to prohibit monopoly abuse.
Economic Security California believes in a state where every resident has the freedom and stability needed to thrive. California is the fourth-largest economy in the world and home to one in eight Americans, a state built on opportunity, innovation, and equity. However, too many Californians are locked out of that promise by corporate consolidation, an unfair tax system, and an economy that leaves working people behind. ESCA seeks to change that.
The ideal candidate will be outcome-oriented and bring a deep commitment to ESCAâs mission. While no single candidate will bring every competency, strong candidates will offer many of the following desired attributes:
Solid track record in leading projects and developing colleagues, and readiness to take on formal management of a diverse team.
Deep knowledge of Californiaâs policy landscape, and core issue areas, including cash policy, tax credits, antimonopoly and corporate concentration policy, tech/AI regulation, or public options.
Extensive experience with the state legislative and budget process, demonstrated understanding of legislative strategy, and familiarity with Californiaâs political landscape.
Strong relationships across Californiaâs legislative, philanthropic, and advocacy sectors, with a track record of driving inside-outside advocacy campaigns.
Proven ability to manage budgets, lead high-performing teams, and drive strategic vision collaboratively in a fast-moving, virtual environment.
Demonstrated success securing and growing institutional funding and major gifts support.
A builderâs mindset, with experience scaling state affiliates or regional programs.
Skilled organizational spokesperson with exceptional writing and public speaking abilities, anchored by a deep commitment to economic and racial justice.

Director builds and leads go-to-market strategy for APAC region, managing sales teams, developing partnerships, closing strategic deals, and driving regional revenue growth.
About Tailscale
Tailscale is making safe connection effortless by delivering software that makes it easy to securely interconnect people and their devices, no matter where they are. From hobbyists to multinational corporations, teams of every size use Tailscale each day to protect their networks, share access to internal tools, and more. Weâre building a future for the Internet thatâs easy, sensible, and safe, like it used to be. Founded in 2019 and fully distributed, weâre backed by Accel, CRV, Insight, Heavybit, and Uncork Capital.

You will have significant autonomy to determine what Tailscale needs to win in the region.
You will also be a hands-on commercial leader.
